Beginning your Preparation to Licensure The diagnostic assessment exam provides a simulation of the exam-taking experience and is useful for establishing a general "baseline" or starting score range. It’s important to note most people score around 50% - so don’t panic! The most commonly identifiable reasons include: varied levels of content mastery, test-taking skills or both. In general, answering test questions improves testing skill and information from missed questions on the exam is helpful for identifying areas requiring further study. Additionally, when the assessment is retaken at a significantly later date, the scores can be compared as a useful measurement of learning. Taking a Diagnostic Assessment:
